I am passionate about speaking to companies and at civic and professional events to share powerful stories, including my own, from transitioning in the workplace and the LGBTQ+ experience. There is a powerful connection audiences experience from hearing someone share their lived experiences–it’s how we make meaning in our lives. I recently launched Deanna Jones Now, and in my work there, I share insights and inspiration on the transgender experience in life and work, perhaps the most compelling topic of our times. My company’s mission is to help people understand what it is to be transgender in the workplace today and help corporations navigate personal transitions and transformations. Whole, authentic employees make all the difference. Everyone needs to feel like they belong.In addition to speaking, I also enjoy leading workshops and consulting work that lead to greater inclusion and belonging in the companies that hire us.I've worked in sales and operations roles in the technology field for over 25 years, including the last 23 years at Cisco. In addition to my Bachelor's Degree from Campbell University, I hold an MBA from Elon University and a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from University of Maryland University Global Campus. A member of Toastmasters for seven years, I currently serve that organization as Area Director. I am perhaps proudest of my leadership role in Harmony, the Raleigh area’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, where I currently serve as President of the organization's amazing Board of Directors. I'm also a proud member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce. On top of all of that, I enjoy coaching T-ball, a passion I've pursued for the last 15 seasons!
