My passion is public relations. I have been in the game of story telling for three decades and am proud of my achievements, having extensive communication, marketing and public relations experience in both the private and public sectors.My firm, Wings Public Relations, designs and implements best-practice communication strategies and public relations campaigns that achieve the results our clients need. We offer strategic and tactical communication consultancy services to selected private sector, not-for-profit and Government organisations. Wings Public Relations specialises in supporting Defence, Technology and Medical Research clients. We have gained a reputation for being experts in these fields - we speak the language, we understand the culture and know how to develop messaging to target the right people.Prior to launching my firm Wings Public Relations, I gained a high profile in southeast Queensland and beyond as Logan City Council’s head of media and communication. My team was named the Public Relations Institute of Australia's In House PR team of the Year for Queensland in 2014 and was commended for its efforts at the national level in 2015.I spent 20 years working as a communication specialist within the Department of Defence before moving into local government.I am a Reservist in the Royal Australian Air Force and was promoted to the rank of Wing Commander in June 2021. In November 2020, I was honoured to be awarded a Chief of the Defence Force Commendation. I am currently serving on the Board of the national Air Force Association as Vice President and Director Communications.In September 2014, I was appointed to the Public Relations Institute of Australia Queensland Council and am an active mentor and supporter of young pr specialists. I was made a Fellow of what we now know as Communication and Public Relations Australia in October 2017.I hold an undergraduate degree in Arts from Bond University and also have a Master of Defence Studies from the University of New South Wales.I graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors course in 2015. I sit on the National Board of the Air Force Association and am also the Vice President of the Australian Defence and Industry Network Qld Committee.In 2022, I was named Women Chiefs of Enterprises Queensland Entrepreneur of the Year and the Australian Defence Industry's Marketing/Communications Professional of the Year. In October 2023 I was named the Communications Winner at the National Women in Defence Awards.
