About Deanna Oaks
Software: My drive towards career advancement and understanding led me to learn the "behind the scenes" of the computer systems I used to transform accounting data into financial information. Learning how Deltek stored and moved data led to an appointment to the SAP Implementation team at FLIR. Learning Syspro, the manual inventory system transformed into a computerized one at ATR. Learning Great Plains led me to be able to explain cost variances due to disjointed servers and time-delayed postings at Beverage House. Learning these things helped me to land a job at 3C, where I now work implementing customized costing solutions via ImpactECS for clients. Accounting:I started studying accounting theory in September 1989; landed my first accounts payable job in May of 1990, a full year before graduating high school. Over the next few years, while working as a full-time accounting clerk, I learned the importance of a college education. I then received an AA degree in Business Administration in 1997. Between 1997 and earning my BS degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2009, I worked myself from Accounting Clerk to Cost Accountant. My education and practical experience have always worked hand in hand throughout my career to augment my theoretical knowledge of accounting. By having a balance of theory and practicality in my career, it was easy for me to move from Accounts Payable Clerk, to A/P Manager, to Inventory Specialist, to Cost Accountant. My motto is "The Devil's in the details and I need to find him!" I am addicted to making things balance. I like things to be exact, traceable, and quantifiable. I tend to over document my work, leaving an audit trail clear enough that anyone can find the source, even if that source is my own error. I think outside the box, and enjoy challenges. I like working on a team as much as working on my own and am social by nature.

Stage Manager To Stage Hand (I Did It All!)
I started my theatre arts career with SBBCTG as a stage hand for Kentucky Cycle in 1995. Between that play and the winter of 2005, I did every job they gave me without complaint. The pinnacle position of stage manager was held for a production of Emma's Child in December 1996, to rave reviews. While I always craved managing again, I could never quite find.
