I'm excited to be driving data and digital transformation within the California Health and Human Services Agency, where the only metric that truly matters is holistic wellness for all Californians. As technology strategists and leaders we must understand how to develop, connect, share and re-use technology and data capabilities in pursuit of an interoperable digital ecosystem that puts those we serve first, incorporating lived- experience perspectives and ensuring we undo the systemic, historical inequities within our legacy policies and programs. The public sector must lead this critical endeavor and nothing gives me more inspiration. Working with and within government has allowed me to reconnect with my “why,” my passion for maximizing individual and population wellness. We do this when we use data and technology to increase access to the full range of health and social services by those who are disproportionately impacted by adversity. I’ve successfully led strategic, operational and technology functions at small and large consulting organizations. I’ve led teams of 20 to 1000+ people and have engaged board members, advocates, clients, vendors and others to identify opportunities, develop and sell offerings, and improve operational processes. I enjoy dissecting complex problems into manageable pieces and addressing the root causes. I’m authentic and accountable and believe that transparent communication minimizes dysfunction and stagnation. I love when teams move from skepticism and a fear of the unknown to enthusiasm and pride through the things we accomplish. Organizations hire me to identify and deliver tangible value. I want to improve our country's health and well-being and I want to stay closely connected to those we can help.Outside of the office, I enjoy working with foster teens so that they can achieve their goals. I also love travel, running, cycling and anything outdoors.
