Greetings LinkedIn community! I am a dedicated professional with over 16 years of experience in emergency response and critical incident management. Currently, I serve as the East of England Ambulance Service EOC Retention Health and Wellbeing Lead, where I am passionately driving positive changes in staff wellbeing and retention within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).My journey has been diverse, having held the position of Incident Command Desk - Dispatch Team Leader at East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. In this role, I led in coordinating incidents, ensuring the efficient delivery of pre-hospital care to patients in life-threatening situations.My background spans the ambulance, police, and city council sectors, providing me with a unique skill set in conflict resolution, risk assessment, surveillance operations, and security measures. I am known for my attention to detail, ability to remain composed under pressure, and swift decision-making skills.Recently I started my new role as the EOC Retention Health and Wellbeing Lead. I am the subject matter expert for all matters related to the health, wellbeing, and retention of our EOC staff and collaborate closely with the Trust Wellbeing Team, integrating their efforts within our control rooms and actively promoting various wellbeing initiatives. Additionally, my focus is on understanding the challenges and motivations behind staff considering leaving the EOC, with the goal of fostering a more supportive and fulfilling work environment.Beyond my professional roles, I am deeply committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. I am a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, proudly accompanied by a medical assistant dog, and a survivor of complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
