About Pamela Dean

Dr. Pamela M. Dean received her MSc degree (distinction) within supra-molecular chemistry, involving the thermal and structural analysis of cyclodextrin inclusion pharmaceuticals, at the University of Cape Town in 2005. Thereafter she was awarded two university scholarships to complete her PhD degree, awarded with no corrections, involving the structural and energetic analysis of low melting organic pharmaceutical salts at Monash University Australia, in 2009. She has worked as a research fellow within the departments of chemistry and materials engineering as the group crystallographer focusing on energy materials between 2009 and 2010 and has concurrently taught ‘Scientific Practice and Application’ to the science undergraduates at Monash University. In addition, she has worked within health sciences, acting as a research officer (2011) at the Population Health Cluster, Deakin University and more recently (2012 - 2013) she has worked as a project coordinator within the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University whilst completing a Cert IV of Project Management. Shortly after discovering the world of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) via Stanford University, she has ventured into the community of e-Learning professionals and is worked as a senior technical writer and subject matter expert (2013 - 2015) and as a project manager at the School of Biomedical Sciences at Monash University to develop and implement the school's Doctoral Program.Since 2018, Pamela pursued an alternative path within the disability sector, focusing on lived experience and community volunteer work.
