English TeacherBellflower High School Aug 2007 - Jun 2012Developed and coordinated writing, reading, and study skills labs in conjunction with faculty in the English Department. Designed and implemented curriculum across California Standards, especially focused on "critical thinking" analysis of literature. With faculty library and staff assistance, I implemented technologies to enhance writing skills: created a card catalog, mock résumé application system, set up a blog to create an online résumé system where an essay could be submitted and scored for grammar and syntax. Created materials for improved expository writing assignments, enhanced test-taking strategies, and reader response resources to raise STAR test scores. My students' CST proficient scores increased 10% within one year (2008-2009).Overall school API score grew 40 points (from 655 in 2007 to 715 in 2010). -
