Profile bio

About Dean Ray

From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to help people, and that I drew energy from being around people. Looking at my journey thus far, I find fulfillment and success from helping others. This is why I advise, volunteer, have worked in the service industry, and within support services. My overall goal remains the same; helping people. However, the method by which I help people has changed and will change over time. I began pursuing my Masters Degree in School Counseling in September of 2015, and earned my degree in April of 2019. I have the ability to work in a K-12 setting, but would prefer to work as a high school counselor. I have recently taken on the Student Support Team Associate role at Washtenaw International High School and Middle Academy in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I am very excited to begin my career with such an exceptional school. Down the road, my long-term goal is to open my own practice providing clinical mental health services. Being someone who loves to advise, mentor, and coach, I am hoping while being a high school counselor, I'll be able to coach school teams or clubs. During my undergraduate career, I joined Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Being a member has taught me invaluable skills, given me a broad network across the country, and the ability to contribute my share to the progress of mankind. Through this group I continue to mentor and coach, while also holding leadership positions and volunteering in my community. I worked at Thomson Reuters from 2014 - 2021, and earned a great deal of professional development, valuable skills, and knowledge of the tax & accounting professional industry. I was with myPay Solutions at Thomson Reuters as a Payroll Specialist from August of 2017 to July of 2021. I made this transition to myPay Solutions after spending three years in the Technical Support Department, leave as a Technical Support Specialist. My time at myPay Solutions was such a rewarding opportunity, and I am thankful for the new skill-set it has provided me.

Listed skills include Customer Service, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Microsoft Office, and 29 others.
