Prior to joining TriplePoint Capital, Dean founded Atherton Vista Capital Corporation, a firm incorporated to complete leveraged privatizations of selected US municipal assets. Privatizations were structured pursuant to a proprietary leveraged purchase / service contract model created by Dean, and opined to by US tax counsel as being in compliance with Section 7701(e) of the Code.Before AVCC, Dean was the co-founder of Trinity Advisors, Inc., providing lessor advisory services to institutional investors in connection with highly structured, domestic and cross-border leveraged lease transactions.Prior to Trinity Advisors, Dean oversaw the lease equity placement group at Comdisco, Inc., closing several billion dollars of equipment lease transactions, including those designed to optimize the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions and leveraged buyouts.Before Comdisco, Dean was with Bank of America where he served as a commercial lending officer.
