Grew and led team that developed major portions of the first version of Microsoft Office for the iPad. Provided strategic leadership, product engineering leadership, people and org development for Microsoft Office Division East Asia Division, Microsoft Advanced Technology Center (ATC), and user experience (ATC Studios). Led 100+ person engineering organization including full time and vendor teams responsible for Microsoft Excel for iPad and Mac and portions of OneNote, Skype for Business, Education apps, SDK and apps for Microsoft Surface. Responsible for teams designing and shipping products for global and Chinese markets. Hired and developed leadership teams and other local and international talent. Cross team collaboration results earned recognition as the "healthiest, most successful distributed engineering team at Microsoft." Delivered leading products to market, presented exec reviews, managed multimillion dollar budget. Prior to 2008, developed and led the Innovation Engineering team at Microsoft Research Asia, responsible for productization of research. Led full cycle incubation projects, technology transfers, licensing, and deployment driven research in areas ranging from on-demand peer/sharing economy to productivity to search. Led and grew org. capabilities in product planning, program management, business strategy, user experience, research and design through job rotations, collaborations, and industry hires. Initiated and guided incubation and commercial projects, from developing ideas, securing partners and funding, through developing teams, establishing successful product group engagements, developing and filing patents, shipping, marketing, and support.
