Dean Slawson has been leading software innovation for over 30 years, advancing ideas from early-stage envisioning and research to successful commercial delivery, building and guiding teams to deliver pioneering, award-winning and market leading products and services used by over a billion people.During his 20-year tenure at Microsoft and Microsoft Research, Dean created, developed and led new teams and business; built and launched innovative products; facilitated tech innovations and technical strategy; and served as a General Manager of R&D organizations in the U.S. and China. Dean currently serves as VP of Advanced Technology at PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care market, where he is responsible for applied research and AI model development to facilitate healthcare providers and risk bearing entities optimizing care experiences, costs, and outcomes for vulnerable populations.Over the years, Dean’s contributions have enabled first-of-a-kind applications of Artificial Intelligence in domains ranging from education, government and healthcare to enterprise productivity, and he is a named inventor on multiple patents. He is also a former EMT, having served on a Mountain Search and Rescue team in California. Dean studied experimental psychology at UCLA and earned a B.S. in psychology at BYU, where he also pursued graduate studies in organizational behavior before returning to UCLA for advanced studies in statistics and research methods.
