Completing Intermediate Leader Education, a prerequisite for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel

Assigned to the Government Appellate Division of the United States Army Legal Services Agency to represent the U.S. Army in cases presented to the Army Court of Criminal Appeals (ACCA) and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF). Responsible for responding to appeals from court martial convictions on behalf of the Government and for drafting briefs and presenting oral arguments that address assignments of error.

Embedded with the 80th Training Command, a two-star command with 9,000 personnel, working on Administrative Law and legal assistance in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.

Attached to "The Mighty" 174th Legal Operations Detachment in Florida providing legal support to the U.S. Central Command and to other personnel in the area. Also providing support to the Professional Communications Program at The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School as a contributing editor of The Army Lawyer and The Military Law Review.

Providing strategic advice and industry insight to major legal education publisher on product development, author acquisition, and market trends.

The Supreme Court first established a rules advisory committee in June 1935 to help draft the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which took effect in 1938. Today, the Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure carries on a continuous study of the rules and recommends changes to the Judicial Conference through a Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure.The Chief Justice appoints the committee members whose terms are limited to no more than six years. Committee members receive no payment for their service. Unlike other Judicial Conference committees, the rules committees include not only federal judges, but also practicing lawyers, law professors, state chief justices, and high-level officials from the Department of Justice and federal public defender organizations.

Researching and teaching in the area of federal civil procedure and military law.

As the Associate Dean for Research, I am responsible for mentoring and supporting faculty with their research; promoting faculty scholarship internally and externally; facilitating the funding, publication, and distribution of faculty work; and assisting the Dean in raising the scholarly profile of the law school.As the Law Center Director, I am responsible administering endowed center focused on supporting the scholarly life of the law school, including developing and managing the budget, supporting conferences and symposia, organizing the faculty workshop series, approving and managing research assistants, and approving funding for scholarly research during the summer.

Handled criminal and civil appellate matters on behalf of the Government, including briefing and arguing cases; advised Government on various legal issues related to pending cases.

Returning to the UVA Law permanent faculty beginning the 2014-2015 academic year.

Provide advice and support to Judge Rogers in connection with her judicial responsibilities.

Conducted evaluation research on behalf of the Metropolitan Police to assess outcomes of a local initiative called Policing Diversity in Lambeth (PDL) that was developed in one community in London, England, to address the challenges of policing a population that was highly ethnically diverse.
