About Dean Stewart

I am the founder and managing director of a consultancy which specialises in Airline Operations, Business Process and IT Systems and Technology. Wide experience of understanding customer needs, identifying real issues and problems and designing solutions using the latest technology and thinking to give the right people the tools they need. I am also the Founder and Director of two other Limited Companies. Ottery St Mary Consulting is a local business management consultancy, and proud sponsors of Ottery St Mary AFC Ladies Team "The Otterettes". ARMS Europe Ltd was set up to help SDS develop and market their software for the European aviation market.I am a Town Councillor for Ottery St Mary, where I chair the Finance Committee and the Climate Action Committee and sit on the HR, Regeneration, S106 and Property Committees. I am a member of Devon Assoc of Local Councils County Committee and Devon County Highways Committee.Member of Exeter Airport Consultative Committee.I am also a member and business adviser to In My Back Yard, a co-operative CIC of local independent farmers and producers in Seaton.I am a Founder and Director of Ottery Community Volunteers, a group that was set up initially to co-ordinate the response to Covid 19 but has since helped manage the Food Bank and is currently setting up a Zero Food Waste project.Founder and Chair of Greener Ottery, a not for profit organisation set up to address issues raised by the Climate Emergency. Now fully independent we are working with other groups and nearby Councils to improve life for the residents of East Devon.I am Chair of the Ottery Business Forum which represents all businesses and retail outlets in Ottery St Mary.I am Treasurer of the Ottery St Mary Food and Families Festival.I am Election Agent for Claire Wright, prospective parliamentary candidate for East Devon and the most successful independent politician in England.

    Community Action Group set up initially to deal with the Covid19 response in and around Ottery St Mary. We worked with East Devon District Council and Devon Communities Together to put together a team of 400 volunteers working from a central office to collect food, prescriptions and other essential items, and to assist other local businesses and organisations in dealing with the lockdown. Set up the Ottery Larder, a community fridge which has handed out more than £100k of food to over 800 households. Christmas project saw 300 hampers and 93 toy bags given out and we run regular litter picks. Currently launching a micro farm to grow food.

Working with @aviationmetrix we systematically reviewed the rules, manuals and processes of the Operations department to understand the requirements. We carried out workshops and interviews and developed a very deep understanding of the way Operations at Vueling worked. We then set about redesigning the system from the bottom, updating crew legality, schedule codes, training processes, automated rostering and many other functions. We carried out user training for over 300 end users and coached and mentored staff in the absence of management. We are now working in different areas such as EBT, Fuel Conservation, Hangar51 and Rostering.
