I am a product-minded engineer who thinks that UX is a responsibility of everyone. I've dabbled in the world of logistics, telco and finance. I like to separate the "must-have" from the "nice-to-have" and favour pragmatic solutions for the here and now. I take pride in a robust and timely delivery. I lean heavily on fundamentals and take a principled approach to problem solving.My experience is primarily with Go and PHP on the backend, and a substantial amount of front-end work with JS, HTML and CSS in my early days. Outside of work I've played with Python and Java (my first language), and read up extensively on languages such as Rust, Clojure, Elixir, Haskell, F#, Crystal, Ruby, Ballerina, Elm, Scala, Kotlin, Dart and Swift.I've been bitten by the OOP and FP bugs in the past. Nowadays I like to keep things simple, I don't rush into abstractions, I am careful with DRY, I make decisions based on my own experiences, and I try to strike a healthy balance between test coverage, developer experience and the needs of the business.
