I am an experienced senior leader working in the education sector. I am currently the COO of Rugby School, a group of four schools with ambitions for further growth. Before starting at Rugby I was Bursar of two other HMC schools.In ten years as a Bursar I have led capital projects with combined value of other £30m; been instrumental in the merger of Stamford’s two senior schools; negotiated new borrowing facilities; and led the introduction of new remuneration policies in response to TPS increases.In addition I am an Independent Director of IAPS, a member of the Audit & Risk Committee at Newcastle University and have been a Governor of two schools (one state, one independent). I have also represented ISBA on a number of sector wide working parties. At all three schools, I have been Clerk to the Governors and have broad experience of charity and corporate Governance - as Clerk and as a Board member.Outside of work I am a hobbyist historian and have published a monograph and various articles on British foreign policy and peacekeeping in the 1990s.
