Started an independent consulting firm focused on utilizing expertise in the medical device industry with a focus on research and product development. The company was aimed at assisting early stage, start-up companies, and incubator firms with product feasibility assessment, product development, and project management.Client base included companies in the areas of orthopedics, trauma products, oral restorative devices, spine, tissue engineering, general surgery, urology, and interventional neuroradiology. Projects involved with both implants and surgical instruments. Project roles and/or responsibilities included: project manager, product development engineer, R & D engineer, coordinating verification/validation studies, technical writing, intellectual property assessments, literature reviews, liaison between medical professionals and engineers, development, writing and filing of regulatory submissions, and writing of SBIR grants
