Current2012-present : Senior Correspondent and Host with a primary beat covering criminal justice, mental health and substance use disorders. I have helped drive various award-winning journalism projects and special coverage. My work airs on NPR and on stations in the New England News Collaborative. I regularly work as a substitute host for WBUR's Morning Edition, All Things Considered , Radio Boston and WBUR's nationally syndicated programs On Point and Here and Now. 2005-2012: Midday local news host, substitute local and national show host, news producer, substitute managing editor2004-2005 : substitute local news host, local news producer, reporter1998-2004 : helped launch WRNI, Rhode Island's NPR station, host of WRNI's Morning Edition and the weekly local news program "Focus Rhode Island." Fellowships include : the Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism (2016) , Journalist Law School (2013), Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation Health Coverage Fellowship (2015) and National Press Foundation training on science journalism (2019) and the opioid epidemic (2014).
