I am a published author, poet and visual artists. I am also a proud disability advocate, my passion is to world an art's community, which is inclusive and accessible to everyone in Ipswich. Previously, I have offered professional development and skill workshops for artists with disability and Founder and Director of Ipswich Artists in Residency Program. I see a very real need for professional mentor program for artists living and working is Ipswich. Just as virtual and a way for artists to connect to the community to foster skill development and inspire the next generation of artist. Currently, I have stepped away from my community art projects and I am working a few hours with Hireup, Head Quarters.. Hireup is a online platform the links people with disabilities with people willing support people with disabilities to live their best lives and achieve their NDIS Goals. I have 20 yeas of experience in the disability sector;. I was formerly the President of Community Access Transition Service. This service was specially design to enable young people with disabilities to transition from school to engaging in the community. I believe that people with disabilities are entitled to be supported to discover pathways to enable them to live a life that is of their choosing. Society presents a sausage factory for us to work through. From preschool to school; to a trade or post school studies, learning to drive, employment, buying a house and eventually retirement. However, this is not a pathway that workers for everyone. Everyone deserves to discover their own pathway to enable them to become the best person they can be, I dream of a world where decimation for people with disability no longer exists. To achieve this I am building a team of allies around me, One of the ways I achieve this is via employing a team of workers to support me to live a life I have choose for myself. I do not see obstacles in my path, rather I see challenges to me. My motivation behind joining Linkin is to find my tribe.
