Deborah Dalebout-Feo (Deb) is the co-founder of two Austin based software corporations. In 1985, Ms. Feo founded Optimization Alternatives Limited, a company specializing in the design, development, and integration of large scale, decision support and control systems for the transportation and manufacturing industries. The company’s systems have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation for most improving the competitiveness of the U.S. Transportation Industry. Her latest company, founded in 2008, Healthcare Control Systems, focuses on improving healthcare productivity and quality of care through deployment of its patent-pending technologies.Prior to the start of her companies, Ms. Feo worked at Phillips Petroleum designing well testing devices for their geothermal division, at Bell Laboratories designing their first Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) System for plant operations, and at Pacific Telesis implementing CAE systems in California.Ms. Feo is originally from Palo Alto, CA, and received her BS in ME from the University of Utah with an emphasis in thermal systems design. She also holds an MS in IEOR the University of California at Berkeley.In addition to her professional work, Ms. Feo has been active in the Austin non-profit community having held board positions at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic School, at the Girl Scout’s Lone Star Council, and at A Legacy of Giving, an organization that empowers children to improve their communities and the world. Ms. Feo has also been integrally involved in The Austin School of Film and Media Arts Center and has served in numerous chair / advisory capacities supporting St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, The Center for Child Protection, The St. David’s Foundation, and The University of Texas, McComb’s school SIFE (Students’ in Free Enterprise), and the E3 - Education Equals Economics education collaborative. Ms. Feo is also a founding member of the Dell Children’s Medical Center Women’s Trust.In her free time, Deb enjoys hand spinning, weaving, growing things, making modern quilts, and beekeeping. Her biggest passion involves the use of fermentation to make cheese, wine, and charcuterie.
