Hi! I am Deb Ferrin, and I have been a preschool teacher, a Head Start Center Director and served as the Child Care Coordinator for the City of San Diego for 15 years. I designed and built over 35 Child Care centers including: Children's Hospital, Urban Village Head Start, Government Services Association, and Kiddie Hall. Also, I designed and implemented San Diego's " 6 to 6" Before and After School Program at 204 elementary and middle schools within nineteen school districts in the City of San Diego.Most recently, I have been teaching Child Development classes at Cuyamaca Community College and Southwestern Community College. I have always taught face to face classes because I love to see that "Aha Moment," when students get a concept! This class will be a Hybrid course using Canvas and Zoom, so it will be a new challenge for me to take on but we will be able to see each other each week which will make it "normal" to an extend and your class presentations will be done orally.I spend my extracurricular time swimming with my two young grandsons, in the pool or at the beach. Additionally, I have thirteen Sudanese "God children", mostly girls, who I take to basketball practices, games and many other fun outings! I have lots of fun stories to share!
