Dr Deborah Kember is an experienced Non-Executive Director with Australian Institute of Company Director qualifications. She has served on boards of membership-based educational leadership companies and incorporated associations, including as President of three organisations across her career. She has a 40-year career record as an educational leader across government, university and schools. Her expertise is based on teaching, leadership and digital technology qualifications to PhD level. Deb’s early career was as a school sports teacher where she built up interschool sport at a Brisbane girls’ school, from 1 team to over 30 teams, winning 11 GPS premierships across 10 years. She also established golf as a sporting option for the girls.Deb was elected President of The Brisbane Golf Club, Queensland, in 2023 following a 3 year term as Vice President. Her board interests and expertise are in progressive governance, strategy and network development, currently serving on the Finance, Audit and Governance, and Members Services subcommittees. She has over 40 years of golf club membership across four Queensland clubs, representing all clubs in pennant teams, winning 6 premierships. In 2022, Deb established The Golf Leaders Network (GLN) and is Chair of this national network of women club board office bearers.
