I have been teaching at CDMS since 2015 as a Full Time Supplemental Learning Support Teacher. In my current position I teach students academics and Life Skills. I manage 2 para professionals in my classroom. I am also Safe Crisis Trained. I my classroom I teach Math, Science and Social Studies. In Math I rotate students in 4 groups so that they gain academic skills, IEP goals and they are able to review all skills. Students work in 2 groups per day. For Science and Social Studies I use the Unique Learning System Curriculum as we as supplement content and videos from other areas. I completed 2 student Learning Objectives (SLO) this year and 91% of students improved academically using strategies I implemented. I am very organized and manage a smooth running class.

I opened an MDS class at South Middletown High School. The class consisted of students with severe disabilities including Autism, Downs Syndrome. I managed 3 para professionals and was able to work collaboratively with the Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist in order to provide the needs of the students in the class.

I was hired to teach Itinerant Learning Support at the Harrisburg School district. During my tenure in Harrisburg, I worked as a 6th grade Science teacher for 2 years and spent the rest of my time as an Itinerant Learning Support teacher. While an Itinerant Learning Support Teacher I worked with 5th and 6th grade teachers collaboratively pulling both learning support student and regular education students into small groups to teach the required skills. I would also team teach with the regular education teacher. The district needed me to step in to teach 6th grade science for 2 years and because I had an Elementary Education Certification, I stepped in to teach. Right before I left the district district reconfigured and had middle schools. At this time I obtained my Middle School Math Certification so that I can teach in the Middle School.
