Review and strengthen Kagome’s existing procedures as they were not robust enough to meet ISO 45001 Certification which the company was working towards.• I took over the Worksafe Dangerous Goods Program which Kagome was a part of due to the high levels of dangerous goods held on site for cleaning purposes – sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide, acetic acid, diesel fuel and a LPG Bullet.• This has seen me writing documents such as management of chemical spills, ESIP (Emergency Services Information Package) which details where and how we store DGs on site, emergency measures for containment of spills, location of storage containers, protection barriers and shut off valves, improve on the Traffic Management Plan, First Aid Administration, Purchasing of Chemicals and Site PIP (Pre-Incident Plan) to assist first responders to site should there be an emergency.• As a consequence of Kagome’s involvement in this program, Worksafe tasked me with applying to FRV (Fire Rescue Victoria) seeking written advice. This advice request is to ensure that our placarding quantities are not excessive, that we have put in place emergency procedures for a worst case scenario.• During this process Kagome has been building the largest Carrot Drying plant in Australia to process carrot waste into Ninjin Fiber (flavorings for products – ie: dog food, health and beauty) for which I have worked closely with our Maintenance Team and their contractors (approx. 35 persons) ensuring that they have SWMS in place for the construction work and that external contractors are inducted, have provided us with their SWMS and are working to site rules.• Follow up of incidents and hazards which are reported via Safety Champion and the creation of Actions around incidents• I work in close contact with the Maintenance Manager with regards to close out of Actions from incidents.
