Deb Perry is the Program Director of ICMA’s clean energy and climate resilience portfolio. Deb is a planner with more than 18 years of experience supporting local, state and regional governments to accelerate the transition to clean energy and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Previously, she was a Senior Associate at the Cadmus Group working to support local, regional and state governments to develop and climate and energy strategies. From 2011-2018 she was at the Institute for Sustainable Communities where she led the US Department of Energy-funded Solar Market Pathways program and played a central role in developing the National Sustainable Communities Learning Network (SCLN), a network of more than 200 communities and regions that received grants and technical assistance through the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. Deb also helped to design and launch the Partnership for Resilient Communities providing technical and financial support to community-based organizations to shape and lead projects that build the resilience of underserved communities to the risks of climate change.From 2006-2011, Deb was a Regional Planner for the Northwest Regional Planning Commission in Vermont. From 2001-2004, Deb was a Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Energy Consumers Alliance (now known as the Green Energy Consumers Alliance). Deb served on the Green Energy Consumers board from 2012-2023.Deb has a Bachelor’s Degree from Colgate University, a Master of Science degree in Natural Resource Planning from the University of Vermont and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
