About Deb R.

Last year, I did something out of my norm and I started work as an administrative assistant for a fire suppression systems company in the city I live in. I have learned so much about seeing a specialized construction based job from start to finish (on the administrative side).I occasional dabble as an independent contractor for a real estate investor and an entrepreneur. I have done both remote and onsite research. My tasks have involved traveling to areas of interest and researching those areas at my client's request. I have also done some light editing for internet content creators, written liability contracts, and photography for my other clients. I have distributed promotional material, helped with content for social media platforms, and advertising. For over 13 years, I worked at Piney Run Park, a local Carroll County Government recreational park in Sykesville, Maryland. I started out as a Seasonal, Contractual - Jr. Park Assistant and worked my way up to Park Superintendent - primarily in charge of operations, financial needs, administrative and is the supervisory lead of all park staff. Also in charge of handling patron complaints, working with government and non-government associates, and ensuring that all patrons, employees, volunteers, and contractors are following proper safety protocol. I have assisted in public programs, private programs, and animal care in the Nature Center. For 10 years, I volunteered my free time to Dogs XL Rescue and I have also helped out other rescues as needed. I have fostered dozens of dogs and many animals I have found homes for without the aid of a rescue. I attended adoption events, transported dogs on their “freedom” rides or to vet appointments, and I was responsible for conducting secondary phone screenings for adopters that wanted to adopt the more challenging breeds.

I started out as a seasonal employee, but I moved up to the top because I had a great boss who showed me the way. It was only once she left and when I took her position that I decided that it was not for me.
