I have an important role to coach and lead nine staff that work out in the field with farmers selling products and service for LIC. It is our responsibility to ensure farmers receive the right solution to the challenges they are facing on their farms as well as meeting key company drivers. The bulk of my time is spent understanding the needs of the team to achieve goals that contribute to the success of the business. I try to promote an environment that is positive with excellent communication, along with flexibility but completely solutions focused. Innovation is my core strength where I always look to improve what I do. • My role as a training adviser involved promoting, assisting in the development and facilitating training for those employed in the Agriculture industry within the Waipa area. It was my role to manage a database of clients and ensure that their needs are met while also meeting organisational targets. In addition I assisted in ensuring training standards are met, whilst developing and controlling regional activities, and promoting the organisation to new clients. Strong relationships between myself, the farming industry, training providers and their tutors also need to be maintained.• This involves visiting and talking to clients both new and existing, on farm about their training and providing them with a solution that will help met their needs, this can be broad or specific for a particular farm. It may also involve providing clients with an idea/opportunity they may not have thought of. I am also responsible for the mentoring, coaching and teaching of our Modern Apprentices.• Time management is one of the most important parts of my role. Preparation and planning strategies are essential, along with self organisation as it is my responsibility to manage my area.• As a senior adviser I had been involved with the training of new staff developing and motivating these people until they are fully capable of carrying out their role competently. This can often mean spending time helping and encouraging them to develop to their potential and met the standards required of the organisation.• During my time as an adviser I always tried to look outside the square using my initiative by coming up with solutions to problems that may not directly affect myself, but will be of benefit to the organisation as a whole.
