As International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) Coordinator and Instructional Coach, I was responsible for coordinating the implementation of the IB PYP at Westlake Elementary School, a PreK-4 school with 6-10 sections of each grade. In addition to being the liaison between the schools and the International Baccalaureate Organization, I provided and/or arranged professional development for staff, facilitated the organization of the state and Common Core standards into transdisciplinary, inquiry-based units across all grade levels, and familiarized students, staff, and the community with the elements of the PYP and inquiry-based methods of teaching and learning, student agency, and varied assessment practices.In my role as IB PYP coordinator, I was instrumental in consideration, candidacy and authorization phases for two IB PYP programmes (authorized 2015) and consolidation of four separate PYP programmes into one when, in 2019, the district moved from four elementary schools to one large school. I worked with administration to create the professional development that made consolidation possible and met frequently with administrators, teachers, and support staff throughout the transition.Beginning in March, 2020, I was asked to help lead in the implementation of an online instruction model as the pandemic altered the course of education. I created professional development videos, led virtual PD sessions for teachers, collaborated with teachers on best practices during weekly meetings, and offered instructional, assessment, and tech support to educators suddenly moving from in person to online learning.

In this position, I worked with teachers in an instructional leadership role, facilitating the purposeful use of technology in elementary school settings in 4 elementary schools in the Westlake City School District. I led professional development, partnered with teachers, and worked with students (Pre-K-4th grade) to integrate technology and the state teaching and learning standards across the curriculum.

Over the years, substitute taught in grades 1-8, including 5 long term positions teaching grades 1, 3 and 4.
