I’ve been working for Saline Area Schools since 1999 as a Teacher Consultant. I’ve been at Saline Middle School since I was hired. Prior to being hired in Saline, I worked for the Wayne Westland School District for seven years. I taught in elementary classrooms for three years and I also taught three years in a special education classroom at the Middle School level at Adams Middle School. Before I was hired in Wayne Westland, I was a substitute teacher for their district, Dearborn, Trenton, and Redford. I also worked at Acadia Montessori School. I attended Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan in Dearborn. At Eastern Michigan, I earned my Bachelors degree in Special Education in the area of Hearing Impaired. I went on to the University of Michigan and received my Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities. As I was working in Saline, I attended Marygrove to receive a Master +30. When I was working toward my Masters + 30, I was able to take approved courses within my field of education. I’m married to John Waterman and we have one beautiful boy named Conor who is Seventeen. My husband is also a special education teacher and the director for our non-profit called PEAC (Programs to Educate all Cyclists). Conor is a seventh grader at Saline Middle School this year. John and I enjoy bicycling, traveling to Ireland, and spending time with our family. If we are not riding bikes, we are probably at home with Conor enjoying family life.
