About Debashis Ray

My academic acquaintance in Anthropology evoked my passion for working in social research, and it implementation. From my academics I have acquired the theoretical knowledge about research planning, monitoring, supervision and execution. Therefore, I found myself competent for this position. Moreover, my job experiences in last 4 years have provided me the chance to learn these in practical and enhanced my knowledge of the planning, implementation, and monitoring and supervision of different kinds of projects. For example I have worked as Upazilla coordinator of Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) where I have Coordinated Maternal and Prenatal Death Review (MPDR) activity at Upazilla as well as district level; Liaison with GoB (CS, DDFP, UH & FPO and UFPO), development workers, UN-MNH Project officers; Interviewing mothers, guardians and community leaders regarding maternal and neonatal health; Providing assistance to developing maps for each ward to identify un-reached population; Conducting orientation for field staffs, supervisors, Upazilla managers and others . Also I have worked a Technical officer for MaMoni project where I have technical support and coordinated with Upazilla Chairman, UNO, UNFPO, UFPO and MO (MCH, LG, and family planning standing committee for in the planning, implementation, and monitoring and supervision . I have worked in managing, supervision, monitoring and proving technical assistance to community mobilization, group formation, linkage and capacity building of Upazilla Health Complex, UH & FWC and CCMG bodies,. In the same project I have involved in development of module and providing training to project and government staff, community volunteers and stakeholders in the programs of maternal-child health and family planning, nutrition, empowering of local governance, child rights, anti-trafficking initiatives for women and children etc.
