I was born in Calcutta and live in Central Europe since 2000. I have a rich European repertoire, 20 years of professional experience with various orchestras and teaching experience. My passion for the search of symphonic music that is either inspired by India/Asia or written by Asian composers has enabled me to premiere several original works. I believe that Western and Eastern musical cultures in their purest forms, though totally different in their conception, can truly communicate. In 2003 and 2004 I studied with Mo Gianluigi Gelmetti in the Chigiana Academy of Music in Siena, following the footsteps of Zubin Mehta. Gianluigi Gelmetti studied under Sergiu Celibidache, Franco Ferrara and Hans Swarovski. In 2005 I initiated an annual concert tradition in cooperation with Lions Club honoring visually impaired people. I. In 2006 and 2013 I created orchestral concerts entitled Asian Inspirations. The Namaste India philharmonic project in 2013 brought together the sitar and the tabla as solo instruments with the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra in addition to the Czech premiere of John Mayer´s Shiva Nataraj. In June 2015 I introduced the premiere of Hiawatha’s Song based on the 9th Symphony at the Antonin Dvorak Music festival. In 2016 I organized the tour of the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic as the first Czech orchestra in India after 57 years. Our musicians enchanted audiences in Mumbai and Kolkata many of whom heard Czech music for the first time ever.I serve on the governing body of The Antonín Dvořák Music Festival, as artistic advisor of International Festival Talentinum and am part of PETROF ART Family. In January 2021 I received the honor of The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award for contribution to Art and Culture by the President of India. It is the highest honour conferred on overseas Indians. I am married to pianist Jana Chaudhuri.
