In charge of all finance and commercial matters of Thomas Cook Group - spread across 21 countries in 4 continents. The position is part of the core Executive Committee, reporting to the Chairman and is responsible for managing a team of finance people across the entire gamut of finance and commercial functions including Corporate and Branch Accounts, Investor Relations, Tax and Treasury. As Group Chief Financial Officer, the key responsibilities are :• Formulate, direct and ensure effective implementation of sound financial policies and practices. • Help in formulating and executing strategies and plans for business growth• Monitor the performances of the 11 units vis-à-vis budgets and strategic plans and ensure corrective actions wherever necessary• Lead the cash conservation initiatives to maximise the central goal of cash flow • Act as an enterprise-wide key decision support to ensure on- time and accurate delivery of business support information.• Ensure optimisation of borrowing costs through efficient cash management, a judicious mix of debt instruments and effective negotiation. • Manage the direct and indirect tax functions to ensure compliance and optimise tax outflows • Play a lead role in mergers, acquisitions and structuring. • Lead and mentor a team of professionals and help them to hone their skills and grow as leaders of tomorrow• Manage the relationship with critical investors and deal with financial analysts, fund managers and FII/Private Equity investors.

Also, led the IPP initiative and raised Rs 1800 mn in May 2013• Instrumental in changing the management focus from “EBIT” to “Cash Flow” – and implemented solutions leading to enhanced cash flows to the extent of Rs 1780 mn in 2013, Rs 2040 mn in 2014 and Rs 2090 mn in 2015. • Improved working capital efficiencies and brought it down to negative levels during 2015.• Set up SOPs for all businesses and led SOX and the ICFR implementation.
