This exercise resulted in 90% of this workforce changing their working hours.•Carrying out employee meetings including disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings.•Monitoring all targets in line with the organisations service level agreements. This included the reduction in absence rated from 12 days per employee to 5 per employee.

These took place every 3 weeks.•Pay and terms and conditions reviews at all sites, including union (USDAW) negotiations at two of these locations. I removed the bank holiday premium and reduced the working week as part of my goal to harmonise terms and conditions and increase base line pay rates.•Setting and reviewing HR KPI targets in line with the company standard. Communicating these results and sharing best practice. My monthly report was rolled out across the business•Recruiting, developing and coaching site HR Managers who are accountable for up to 350 employees.•Succession planning and performance review process implementation.•Establishing and maintaining company policy and procedures. My role also involved devising and implementing policy and process changes•Supporting new business openings and closures. I was solely responsible for managing the closure of the Burtonwood services westbound business.
