About Debbie Clarke

During my 35 plus years in financial services I have managed assets on behalf of clients, led large global teams of asset managers, been a client consultant and undertaken forward looking due diligence on investment strategies across the globe. I currently lead Mercer’s Global Investment Research including our manager research, strategic research and Responsible Investment research. I am a regular speaker at our global investment forums where we connect and share our best thinking with the asset management community and our clients. I am an authentic leader of a team of over 125 and believe that developing a diverse group of people is the best way to succeed. Everyone has a view and being able to listen to and build on those diverse views is how we facilitate our clients to achieve better outcomes.My passion to serve the next generation led me take on an advisory role to the UK CFA Institute advisory board and I am an Independent Trustee of the Church of England Investment Committee. I have been recognised as a member of the FN 100 Most Influential Women in Asset Management in 6 of the last 9 years and in 2016 was awarded the Distinguished Women Investment Professional of the year on 2016 by the Chicago Women in Pensions committee – during my 3 years working in the US. In my spare time I am an avid crafts person - quilting, cross stitch and crochet.
