As a Team Member in Outlier's Advanced Generalists (English) Program, comprised of experienced writers, I work on the Outlier Platform to train leading-edge Generative AI large language models (LLMs) to better communicate via prompt engineering.

Founded business as Writer/Editor/Publicist. Clients have included Lifestyles Magazine (serve as their West Coast Correspondent), Pregnancy Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland and Alameda Magazines, and Benefit Magazine, among others.

Debbie Cohen has had an extensive career as a journalist/editor and publicist. She recently served as the Director of Donor Communications/Senior Writer & Editor for an NGO helping vulnerable young children in Asia. In the nonprofit sector she has worked for many organizations, including as a Features Writer for The Pearson Foundation of Pearson plc (a multinational educational publishing company).As the former West Coast Correspondent for the internationally distributed Lifestyles Magazine, she has profiled leading personalities. A contributing writer for numerous other publications—including The San Francisco Chronicle, Kaiser Health News, Pregnancy Magazine, and Benefit Magazine—her work has also appeared online at myprimetime, a website for baby boomers. Ms. Cohen resides in Northern California. She blogs on Goodreads and Tumblr and has appeared on local television to discuss being an indie author of her first novel, Keeper of the Scale. Communicated the critical, global impact of OneSky's pioneering work with young at-risk children. Liaisoned with colleagues in the United States and Asia, serving as a senior content writer and editor of print and online marketing/communications materials.

Served as Writer/Publicist in the Office of Communication for The Harker School, a nationally recognized independent college preparatory (preschool to high school) day school. Worked with marketing and advancement teams to promote the school, student, alumni, parent and donor communities via the production of written collateral. Utilized online intra and outer office publishing systems including: wordpress, finalsite and centraldesktop.

Conducted interviews, wrote and edited feature articles for the foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Pearson plc. (One of the world's leading media, education and consumer publishing companies, Pearson owns both The Penguin Group and The Financial Times.) Worked collaboratively with foundation officials, as well as top civic, business and non-profit agencies. Reported directly to CEO.

Served as writer/publicist for one of the largest and oldest human service agencies in the country. Promoted Development and Programming departments through production of email newsletters, targeted email blasts, articles for Endowment giving website, ads, media releases, brochures, annual reports and direct mail newsletters. Worked with outsourced web company to implement website updates and create new html and web pages. Led research of Web 2.0 social networking. Interviewed and profiled top donors, as well as a range of clients in need. Promoted major fundraising events. Coordinated timelines with art director, freelance graphic artist and mail house. Worked with Marketing Director on packaging. Regularly pitched media.

Produced print collateral for major fundraising organization. Promoted Campaign and Endowment departments through production of newspaper articles, ads, brochures, annual reports and newsletters. Served as chief liaison with local Jewish newspaper, pitching and writing stories. Worked with Federation staff to plan event publicity, promoting guest speakers through pre- and post coverage. Interviewed and profiled top philanthropists and celebrities. Coordinated professional photography and worked with graphic artist on vision for layout.

Worked for nationally distributed monthly publication (circulation 55,000) promoting international advocacy organization. Duties included: supervising writers and typists, article selection, covering/writing stories, editing, writing press releases, assisting with layout, photography, writing ad copy, and coordinating editorial board meetings.

Wrote and researched articles for The Anchor, a monthly boating newspaper. Additionally, wrote promotional pieces for various businesses.
