Reconciliations & Exceptions Oversight

•Managed project as a resource in charge of PEX for client facing operations process as well as project management for on boarding on to internal work flow platform•Provide onshore SME support for Mid Europe, Euroclear, Clearstream, Emerging Markets, Inter Company and Euro Commercial Paper flows for UBS’ Fixed Income, Cash Equity and Prime/SBL activities•Responsible for ensuring performance of offshore vendor teams totalling in excess of 40 staff•Vendor management ensuring offshore settlements teams meet agreed SLAs on a daily basis whilst maintaining an onshore escalation role•Ensure that all daily settlements activities are completed within the agreed deadlines; Build and maintain proactive relationships with business colleagues•Ensure adherence to operational risk and control processes, and continually work to enhance the risk management and reporting environment•Ensure strong working relationships with other operational areas through regular meetings and discussion on best practice•Deal with Settlements queries/requests in a timely manner•Understand the following specific Settlement processes cross markets; Pre and Post Settlement, Inventory Management, Corporate Actions & Dividends, Cash Management, Stock & Cash Reconciliation, Operational Risk and Controls, Securities financing, Netting and DR Conversions•Assist in the delivery of system enhancements, new markets and partner strategy•Assess exceptions and deviations from the settlements processes and agree and implement, where appropriate, any new relevant procedures•Provide information on the status/progress of exceptions and resulting actions to the head of operations with a target of zero fails/breaks greater than seven days of age•Identify and communicate problems and issues to management contribute to the solution•Co-ordinate general queries arising from management, partners, clients, front office, middle office and personnel

•Supervising ABN Amro’s offshore International Equity Settlements team•Markets Covered: Euroclear, the Americas, Central Europe, Scandinavia, Emerging Markets, Asia and Middle East.•Direct functional accountability for DTC, Euroclear & Central European settlements•Ensure that all daily Equity Settlements activities are completed within the agreed deadlines; Build and maintain proactive relationships with business colleagues•Deal with Equity Settlements queries/requests in a timely manner•Escalate issues when appropriate and ensure procedures are documented, communicated and applied•First point of escalation for offshore analysts providing support and advice in resolving complex issues•Sharing knowledge with staff in London/India and provide training where required
