I am passionate about healthcare, from education of the consumer, to value-based contracting with the provider. I have been fortunate enough to study the US system from every angle, specifically to understand how to catalyze necessary change. I am an entrepreneur at heart, proven by the successful launching of two companies, one for-profit (achieved public offering) and one non-profit (internationally recognized). The latter enabled a deeper understanding of the challenges and shortfalls of our mental health system. None of my career choices were happenstance. I started on this journey to understand why a hospital that I cherished bankrupted with the introduction of DRGs. That quest became more complicated as I worked my way through the layers of our complicated system, developing new knowledge at every turn. I found that every job contributed to my growth. My mission from the start has been. learning, educating, creating, collaborating, and effecting meaningful change. There is no place in the complex world of healthcare that doesn't need analysis and revision. I love every part of healthcare, but if I had to pick one area that has the greatest need, it would be mental health in the context of the social determinants of health. That subject requires more attention than this section would allow and is the basis of our non-profit. I seek to find that organization that shares my passion and empowers me to apply my skills toward positive change. In culmination of my journey, I earned my Certification as a Case Manager, working for United Healthcare. I was, in fact, chosen as the 2019 Georgia March of Dimes Nurse Case Manager of the Year, a highly competitive honor. This position provided me with current understanding of the holes in the healthcare system and how they cost both providers and patients, underscoring how environment impacts quality, cost, and outcomes.» Program Management » Thought Leadership » Strategic Partnerships » Process Improvement » Financial Management » Regulatory Compliance » Clinical Insight » Project Management » Health Policy »Managed Care Contracting » Physician Reimbursement » Utilization Management » Mental Health/Bipolar Disorder » Start-ups » Data Analysis » SPSS » Hospital Administration » Lean Six Sigma Healthcare Certification » Nonprofit Management Certification» Benefits Consulting» Case Management » Health Education» Group Presentations» Microsoft Office» Constant Contact» Word Press » Nutrition» Physiology» Behavioral Change» Social Media >> Contract Negotiations>> International Recruitment and Research>>
