I recently retired from thirty-three (33) years of educating young children! I have taught kindergarten, second grade, and most of my career was in educating third graders. I was team leader, on every possible committee at the campus level, and served on many district level committees throughout the years. I have completed countless hours of training over the years, attended summer classes every summer, and I was committed to learning about the latest technology and apps to meet & surpass district requirements. I was selected our campus teacher of the year several years ago. Doing what was best for each individual child in my class is what I DID BEST! Having been a teacher in the district for twenty years allowed me the opportunity to make life long connections with my learners and their families. Creating a sense of community with my learners and a safe environment to learn and grow, was a cornerstone of my classroom. My learners always knew how much I was invested in them and encouraged each of them to be the best they could be. My classes always worked on having a growth mindset and they believed in themselves. My learners knew: YOU MATTER!It was the career of a lifetime to have the privilege to lead, encourage and make a difference in the lives of so many young children.
