    I returned to MSSM in 2007 after an administrative change to resume my role as Biology Instructor and Science Dept. Chair. In the summer of 2021 I also served as Acting Interim Executive Director. I have served as faculty representative to the Board of Trustees for over 10 years (not all consecutively), been a member of the administrative team, coordinated class scheduling, managed the MSSM Greenhouse (and assisted with design development), coached the MSSM Science Bowl team, and have taught a wide variety of college-level courses in the biological sciences. After an administrative restructuring in 2023 I became STEM Division chair, overseeing science, math, and computer science faculty.

This was part of an on-going research project looking at how bears are able to retain normal kidney function even after months of minimal usage during hibernation.
