Through my NHS careers I have had various progressive role, no more so than my recent role: Trainee ADVANCED CLINICAL PRACTITIONER in Orthopaedics. Prior to this role I move from ED for a service development / lead role in Orthopaedics to set up a Trauma Ortho service & team to assist in planning, delivery, improvement & auditing of the service, which was an extremely challenging role. My initial employment in my first NHS job as a Sister within the Emergency Department and recently promotion to Senior Sister within 6 months, after recently leaving the British Army after 13 & half years service. Into a role with high pressure and focus on safe patient flow, managing all aspects of the Emergency Department, liasing with Senior Management on a daily basis. ENP role is in addition to the Shift Leader role. Where I have been employed as an Emergency Care Nurse in the Emergency Department since Jul 09 and practice in an autonomous manner. I was also selected to commence my ENP training, which I completed in Sept 2015, and I am currently consolidating. Before this post I returned to University to undertake my PG Cert in Specialist Emergency Care and a Preparation and Mentorship Module. Prior to commencing my CPD I had other clinical posts in A&E, Primary Health Care along with being employed as an in house Training Lead. I have been employed by the British Army as a Military Nurse providing first line care to soldiers both on operations and in the UK, along with civilian and dependents. I have had the experience of exercising both roles within the conflict trauma environments of Iraq and Afghanistan, yet predominately working in a civilian setting alongside my NHS colleagues. As nursing is very much a desired and passionate career pathway for me, with the zest to develop and challenge myself and other. During my service I have had a great amount of Management and Leadership experience, both within and outside the clinical setting. Many of my roles have afforded me an excellent amount of transferable skills which are typical of working within Military Medicine, examples such as the ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team, excellent communication skills due to working with in several multicultural environments and being able to adapt quickly into a diverse environment with ease in order to meet the common goals of the collective.
