Provides management and direction for 38 staff members, 20 college interns, and organizationaloversight for a $7.5 million dollar budget and operations of a University joint licensee. WCMUserves a large geographic area from mid-Michigan to Canada with 8 radio and 4 television channels(42 of 83 counties).

Provide leadership and management for a statewide joint-licensee in the areas of business development, communications, marketing, research, community engagement, contract production, education and annual/major giving. Implement short and long-term goals, operational philosophy, procedures and strategies. Created organizational key performance indicators to inform strategies and direction. Oversee and administer budgets and revenues of more than $6 million. Manage and monitor annual revenue and expense budgets. Routinely meet and communicate with stakeholders and legislative representatives. Collaborate with community and education groups to address the needs of the state and regions. Supervise, manage and provide opportunities for training a staff of 36.

Charged with building and implementing the college’s first corporate/foundation plan. Cultivated major gifts from alumni, corporations, foundations and friends of the College of Arts and Sciences. Worked with faculty to research and write proposals to match donor interest and extend the reach of the college. Maintained a comprehensive major gift portfolio with strategies addressing key goals and priorities of the College.

Directed all aspects of fundraising and marketing efforts including annual, online, event, corporate, and major/planned giving. Carried a portfolio of more than 100 major donors. Coordinated major donor strategies with the University of Illinois Foundation. Provided strategic direction for multi-platform marketing and fundraising. Participated on the Illinois development council exploring ways to work across the state with like-minded organizations. Expanded the online giving program to include broader giving options. Supervised a team of 16 and served as a key member of the senior leadership team.

Held a variety of positions starting as a volunteer coordinator and advancing to increasingly more responsibilities of fundraising director, development and programming director. Managed and directed Communications, Marketing, Corporate Support, Development and Programming departments. Fostered a creative, team-based, goal-oriented approach. Provided oversight and strategy for three television channels. Member of the senior station management team; supervised a team of 17 staff members. Coordinated development efforts including on-air, online, special events, direct mail, speakers, and auctions. Created and developed an integrated marketing plan to increase awareness of the organizations programs and services.
