If I had to define myself professionally, I would say that I'm essentially a financial professional that can do alot of other things, too. I began my career at Cooper & Lybrand where I specialized in auditing banking and brokerage companies. I then moved on to become a controller of a physician practice management group. After a short time, I was promoted to regional controller where I merged 5 independent accounting departments and was responsible for all facets of the accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting of 13 subsidiaries. After moving to Israel with my family in 2002, I began working for Answers.com as their Financial Compliance Manager where my primary responsibilities included Sarbanes-Oxley 404 ("SOX 404") compliance and US tax coordination. In that role, I developed mechanisms to deal with monitoring and managing multi-state tax reporting requirements of a fast-growing internet company. Additionally, I built the SOX 404 infrastructure from the ground up, including initial scoping, writing/supervising documentation, developing testing plans and supervision of testing. I am currently the CFO of a non-profit corporation which organizes extra-curricular educational programs for college students on 21 American university campuses. My primary role is managing the entire finance function for MEOR's 17 cost centers, as well as handle compliance issues and financial reporting.Specialties: I'm especially good at taking a problem or an issue, (usually one I have limited experience in), and, (with very little direction or supervision), find a solution, build appropriate infrastructure, and put systems in place to deal with the issue at hand. When first presented with the issue, my mind immediately starts segmenting and planning the project. I especially like working with start-ups or small companies and helping them get to the next level.
