About Debbie Marin

When I first started working in Property Management in 2009, I began as a temp receptionist meanwhile I went to college to major in Media Management. A week later I was hired as a full-time administrative assistant in the company I first started working for. Now 11 years later and several promotions later, I remained in the field that I ultimately fell in love with. Although I did end up graduating with my BA in Media Management, the passion I had for managing commercial real estate stayed with me and I realized I found my niche. I’m currently an Assistant Property Manager and Project Manager for several properties in Southern CA. In addition, I’ve been involved in our newest 152 unit residential development project in Westlake. I began my career with administrative work, to operations and now I assist Ownership and Leasing with tenant improvement projects/development projects.     I worked for Equity Office for five (5) years after they purchased the building I was currently working in; which was previously managed by Hines. I became the lead-admin and trained the new admins on how to use our accounting system, coordinate events and train them on our emergency response system. I assisted our APM and PM with coding invoices, creating contracts and purchase orders as well as requesting proposals for the following year's budget. I continued to support the entire Team in all administrative needs for the building and property whether it was filing, organizing building/vendor files, organizing Tenant and Team Building Events and coordinate all vendor jobs. I began to shadow the APM in janitorial and landscaping walks to prepare myself for the APM position. For our Tenants, I would assist them with order requests, accounting questions, building/parking access, rekeying, above standard jobs and any other questions or concerns they had.Aged delinquency reports were given to me on a monthly basis to follow up with Tenants that have not paid their rent. I would assist the PM in making these calls and provided daily updates on the delinquent rent status. Lastly, I assisted our Leasing Team with vacant suite preparations for their tours.

    I worked for Hines for almost three (3) years after they purchased the building I was working in; which was previously managed by Cushman & Wakefield. In those three (3) years I continued to be the main point of contact for Tenants, Vendors, Leasing Team, Management and Ownership. During this time I began to assist our AMP and PM with coding invoices and looking over proposals for the upcoming year's budget. I started to familiarize myself with Leases, amendments, abstracts, etc. I was in charge in organizing all Tenant Events and Team Building Events within our office. I supported the entire Team with administrative needs and special projects for the property. For our Tenants, I ensured that any questions or concerns they had regarding their lease, accounting, maintenance, janitorial, signage, rekeying, etc. were taken care of in a timely manner. Our goal as a Team was to provide exceptional customer service to keep our Tenants happy.
