About Debbie Maxwell, Phd

The BoMax Hydrogen Generation System produces hydrogen by harnessing the power of Nature to produce a clean renewable source of hydrogen utilizing inexpensive earth materials and readily grown bacteria illuminated by visible spectrum light. The water-based system takes advantage of amazing optical properties of nanoparticles to produce pure H2 gas for use in fuel cells. BoMax Hydrogen, LLC, located in the Space Life Sciences Lab at Kennedy Space Center, is commercializing a patented (March 2017), photo-catalyst to produce H2 gas on site and at point of use. BoMax technology is comprised of a photo-driven up conversion of electrons from a CdSe nanoparticle facilitating electron transfer to an adsorbed enzyme component to enable reduction of protons. BoMax is currently in an optimization phase with goals of increasing production rate and duration while driving production costs down.
