About Debbie Millard

Sometimes referred to as the ‘friendly face of finance’, but numbers are only part of my story. I’m a people-person who happens to do numbers, and support organisations through strong leadership, governance, determining strategy, building great culture, empowering people and of course robust financials. I am an advocate of values-based leadership in organisations whose purpose extends beyond purely making profit. Hence, I choose to work primarily with private and family businesses and for-purpose organisations in the capacity of:- Non-executive director and board chair- Business coach- CFO consultantBut I have also developed a reputation as a financial literacy facilitator across the spectrum of large corporates, public sector, not-for-profits and small medium enterprises. Facilitating financial literacy workshops for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Small Business Development Corporation, College of Law and for many boards of directors. Learning my craft as a chartered accountant with KPMG internationally, evolving as a Chief Financial Officer and executive leader with large private business; combined with 14 years governance experience as a non-executive director and Chair, and now leading my own business. These 30 years of working closely with executive leadership teams, boards and staff across all levels, informs my work as a non-executive director, board chair, financial literacy facilitator, business coach and CFO consultant.
