I have experience in many fields of freelance journalism:• Editor of the Burnside Barometer 2008-2014. This was an eight page community newsletter, distributed quarterly, funded by the City Council. I was responsible for sourcing information, conducting interviews, photographic work and layout, and writing articles.• I have over 500 articles online that earn a passive income each month. Topics include parenting and marriage, tourism and travel, Asperger’s syndrome, writing tutorials, and life skills.• Blogging is an interest and I maintain seven blogs – one is a personal one, one is about travel and tourism in New Zealand, and the others relate to my books.• During the Christchurch earthquakes, I took hundreds of photos and turned the best of these into a series of photo books. I had these professionally printed and sold them on Trade Me and through Wheelers and other local book suppliers. I gave the profits to the Red Cross to help with the work they were doing in Christchurch at that time.

Over the years I have won many awards and trophies for my writing:• Notable achievements in fiction writing include placing first in the Rose & Crown Novel Writing Competition in 2009 and 2012, and second in the Faithwriters’ Best of the Best contest in 2007. My novel, Contagious Hope, was a finalist for the Australasian CALEB award in 2013. I currently have three published novels with a fourth due out later in 2015.• My non-fiction “first chapter of a book” entries placed second in the Faithwriters' Page Turner Contest in 2010 and 2014. The 2010 entry about the Christchurch earthquakes is now available as a full length book entitled Magnitude 7.1 & 6.3 and has sold several hundred copies. • My other non-fiction titles include the following: Loving Leanne – the story from birth to death of my sister who was born with mental and physical disabilities. Cyber-bullying is Never Alright – a self-help guide written from personal experience. Fly with Me – a selection of true inspirational stories inspired by my love of flying.

Over the last decade, I have shared my life story with many Probus clubs and church groups. I have also taught writing courses and been a guest speaker at several writing conferences in New Zealand and Australia. As a pastor's wife, I get to preach every two months or so.

Started and managed Nursery Fare. This was a shop specialising in toys, educational games, baby clothing and baby equipment. Managed the financial side, stock purchasing and merchandising, as well as overseeing the daily running of the store.
