The most important thing I have learned from early on in my career, is that your customers are your business, without them, you have no business. From owning and operating an HVAC company alongside my husband, I learned the ins and outs of all aspects of business and yes it could be challenging at times, but we prevailed and accepted any and all challenges. After selling our company after 27 years, it was time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Knowing how much I enjoyed being a part of the professional world, I knew I needed to return to that sense of purpose and start the next chapter. Finding myself no longer self-employed, gave me an excitement of what my next role would be. I surrounded myself with other professionals that would allow me to continue utilizing my skills accepting an office manager position at a professional surveying and mapping company opening my eyes to all that went into the tasks at hand expanding my knowledge - I had a great boss of which I will always be grateful for - he taught me so much about the world of surveying and mapping. From there, we relocated to North Carolina to fulfill a lifelong dream of living in the mountains where I was fortunate enough to accept a position at a fuel company as the accounting administrator supplying fuel to commercial gas stations and customers as well - this is where I found my passion. Under the guidance of the COO, I learned that there was way more to fuel than just putting it in your vehicle tank - way more. I learned the world of energy and how important it plays a role in everyday life. There is a lot that goes into the accounting of how fuel is purchased and then sold as the market can be volatile and learning the understanding of this concept - I found the position to be challenging, interesting and exciting and enjoyed every single moment and I will always be grateful for the mentors I had. Our time in the mountains came to an end after almost 5 years needing to return back to our home base of Florida, having to say goodbye to a position I loved. Once back in Florida, I accepted a position as a customer service rep for the county in which I live - working in the growth management division offering outstanding customer service to those in need with their permitting issues and zoning questions. After all is said and done, at the end of each day, I still remain grateful for all the paths I have taken in my life. I give thanks to all the ones I have met along the way!
