I wanted to be an Egyptologist when I left school. This threw the Careers Advice lady - she didn't have a leaflet on this and recommended nursing or the RAF instead but as I didn't want to do either of these, I took a job as a sales negotiator at a local Estate Agent's office. I loved the properties, the Vendors, the Purchasers, matching the right people with the right houses, everything about the job. Over the years, subsequent jobs may have carried greater responsibility and commanded higher salaries but the important things for me remain the same. - building lasting relationships with my clients and knowing that I've made a difference.After many enjoyable but volatile years in Banking, I wanted to move into Healthcare and was lucky enough to be offered the role of Key Client Consultant with Denplan (now Simplyhealth), the UK's leading dental payment plan provider. I was blessed with having a portfolio of wonderful client practices and it has been a privilege to have been able to work so closely with them, dovetailing our extensive range of support services with my clients' needs, watching them grow their businesses and sharing in their success. My proudest achievement is never having lost a client to the competition. I live with my husband and our two adopted Labradors in North Norfolk. Our three sons have all grown up and left home. The youngest has followed his Dad into the pub business, the middle one is following in my footsteps and works at a local Estate Agent and the eldest is a personal trainer and therefore doesn't take after either of us. I still quite fancy being an Egyptologist though so if anyone from the Antiquities Department in Cairo is reading this, please do bear me in mind..........
