Representing our TIME (training individuals for manufacturing employment) Grant.The Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board received a $4.9 million U.S. Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administrative grant to assist with Training Individuals for Manufacturing Employment (TIME) in high-skill, high-demand jobs. The grant makes On-The-Job Training (OJT) support available to manufacturers throughout Wisconsin who hire eligible job seekers for full-time employment at a $13.25/hour wage or higher rate that meet these requirements: 18 years of age or older; hold a high school diploma, HSED or GED; unemployed or underemployed as determined by WOW WDI; received some manufacturing experience or education; and Require specific skills training.

Work with area employers to identify and match their employment needs with Workforce Development Center services and job seekers. Providing resources to employers to assist with hiring needs for developing or maintaining a quality workforce.Promote Workforce Development services to area employers; job fairs, open houses, on-the-job training funding, onsite recruitment's, application collections, screening of applications. Develop job sites through the Workforce Investment Act Program for at-risk youth, low income adults and dislocated workers. Assist individuals with job search techniques including: application strategies, resume review, interview skills and mock interviewing. Match job leads with job seekers areas of interest and skill set.Aid the Department of Workforce Development with their Re-Employment Sessions to inform job seekers of services offered at the Workforce Development Center including recommending workshops, critiquing resumes, and job search strategies.Organize Business Services open house events on topics of interest to Waukesha County employers.Assist employers with labor market information and trends.Developed and Co-managed a half day seminar directed towards the dislocated manufacturing worker entitled “Let’s Get Moving”. Assembled an eight member panel of Senior Management and Human Resource Managers from Waukesha County manufacturers to answer questions and explain the current economic trends in the industry as well as offering insights to the hiring process.
