I’m dedicated to supporting the shift in the travel and tourism sector towards a regenerative model that places human and ecological well being at the heart of tourism’s purpose. I have a deep and long held belief that we are meant to grow and evolve throughout our lives in order to fulfill our own unique potential. My background in education and counseling, and multiple learning journeys with Regenesis Institute as a Regenerative Practitioner, means I embrace change as a natural and fundamental aspect of life. Developing a regenerative mindset that embraces change allows us to see opportunities and potential in how we respond innovatively to our changing world. I have always been able to see the big picture, how everything is an interconnected and complex web of dynamic living systems. Developing our own capacity to learn to see the systems we’re part of, and what our unique role is in contributing to those systems is part of the learning journey required of all of us.As a regenerative practitioner I use specific techniques, frameworks, and strategies, along with genuine curiousity and caring to create spaces for people to collectively learn what a regenerative approach means in their unique place. Through co-hosting GOOD Awaits, The Regenerative Tourism New Zealand Podcast, I seek to midwife a new story for tourism - one that activates hope and paints a tourism future that nurtures the wellbeing of communities and ecosystems, as well as travellers. Our podcast is a journey to discover what reimagining tourism looks like in Aotearoa New Zealand and enables the mindset shift that is required for tourism to be truly regenerative. Because we are all learners on this journey, our podcast is a platform of collective discovery, and we invite you to join us on this journey of change. I’m a New Zealander currently living in New Zealand and the USA. I’ve lived in Japan, England, Hungary, Austria, and Australia, and travelled widely, which has taught me the value of diversity in experiences, perspectives, and people in order to create thriving organisations and communities. I’m excited by the growing number of self-organising grass-roots groups building the momentum of change in how we travel and host, and keen to connect and collaborate with others interested in sharing, supporting, nourishing and nurturing this movement.
