About Debbie Gunn
I live just north of Hamilton, New Zealand, with my husband and two young boys. I completed a BSc in Earth Sciences followed by a post graduate Diploma specialising in Engineering Geology. I initially worked as an engineering geologist, and later as a GIS professional, for engineering and environmental consultancies (details below). This included a stint in Sydney, Australia, from 2011 to 2013. Since having children I have kept busy with part-time work as a receptionist, and volunteer work helping ex-refugees that are new to New Zealand with their English. I am currently employed at Hawkins as Bid Coordinator for the Central Region.--------------In my role with Golder Associates (NZ) Ltd as a GIS Analyst, I undertook work on a variety of projects in the ecological, geotechnical, mining, contamination assessment, planning, and landscape design fields. This involved geoprocessing within ArcGIS (including visibility analyses, contamination plume interpolation, and volume calculation), production of maps, and conversion and generation of data in non-GIS formats for further analysis.Prior to working at Golder Associates, I was employed at Opus International Consultants, initially as an Engineering Geologist (four years), and then as a GIS Analyst (two and a half years). While employed as a GIS Analyst I worked on projects involving the designation of proposed highways, traffic and travel time analysis, water reticulation networks, and planning consultation maps. During my time as an Engineering Geologist, I worked on projects in the geotechnical investigation, groundwater supply, and contamination assessment fields.
Listed skills include Arcgis, Gis, Spatial Analysis, Geoprocessing, and 20 others.
