I’m a confident communications professional with over 20 years experience gained in the Financial Services and Higher Education sectors.I’m passionate about colleague engagement, putting the needs of colleagues at the heart of everything I do. I use colleague insight to plan, develop and deliver effective and engaging communications across a wide range of channels (including print, face to face, intranet and video).I’m also great at some of the other comms disciplines that you might expect me to be involved in: copy writing, proof reading, making the complex simple, building brilliant relationships, giving sound advice, organising engaging events, getting stuck in with change programmes, empowering my colleagues to be their best selves and making sure culture is always nudged in the right direction.

Service Improvement ManagerYorkshire Building Society Sep 2008 - Aug 2011Bradford, United KingdomMy role was to lead a team that looked for business processes and procedures to improve, particularly the ones that created waste, blockages and complaints. I looked for opportunities to make things more efficient and effective for both customers and colleagues. I worked closely with business areas and provided expert advice and guidance on new ways of working when new processes were put in place. Our team were the first to raise concerns about the amount of PPI complaints received, and instigated the initial review that took place (before the world went PPI crazy). On the back of this work I introduced these initiatives (that still exist today): • an online forum where colleagues could raise their ideas and suggestions. • new easy-to-read and easy-to-find procedure documents for front-line colleagues. • a colleague recognition scheme for anyone who had an idea or made an improvement that saved the organisation and their colleagues time and/or money. • a team to look at the root cause of complaints so we can take action to avoid the same thing happening again. -
